Wanda (Wiseman) Wilson

Wanda (Wiseman) Wilson was born November 7, 1933, in Edwards, Missouri and departed this life on May 16, 2022, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 9 days.

She was the daughter of Homer and Gladys (Thayer) Wiseman.

Wanda spent her younger years in Climax Springs, Missouri, graduating from Climax Springs High School in 1951. After graduation, Wanda attended college in Carthage, Missouri for a year before moving to the Kansas City, Missouri area to pursue job opportunities. Wanda worked several places over the years including Hallmark Cards, Western Electric, and Delden Manufacturing Company, but the job she loved the most was being a homemaker.

On February 20, 1976, Wanda was united in marriage with Ernest L. “Ernie” Wilson at the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Wanda and Ernie lived in Pleasant Hill until 1989 when they moved to Harrisonville, Missouri, and in 2006 they moved to Belton, Missouri to make their home.

Wanda’s world revolved around her family and her church. She was a loving, supportive and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took great pride in her family. Wanda was an active and dedicated member of the Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene, where she worked tirelessly to serve the Lord and her church family. In her spare time, Wanda enjoyed baking for her family and nibbling on anything chocolate.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Gladys Wiseman; one son, Robert L. “Rusty” Whitworth; one brother, John Wiseman and one sister, Nora Lee Flippin.

She is survived by her husband, Ernie Wilson of the home; one son, Bill Whitworth and wife Crystal of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; twin brother, Wayne Wiseman of Marshfield, Missouri; one sister, Harriet Ewert and husband Dick of Branson, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Dawn Marie Copowycz and husband Shawn of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Ashley Lum and husband Dennis of Rockledge, Florida, Dr. Zachary Patterson of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Sarah Lundeen and husband Brady of Manhattan, Kansas, Kaitlin Debrick and husband Bradley of Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, Emily Dillon of Holden, Missouri and Melissa Lowry of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Madison, Aliceyn, Benson, Cade, Brendan, Carson, Logan, Elliana, and Elijah; other relatives and many loving friends.

The family of Wanda (Wiseman) Wilson will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene, 2305 E. South Street, Harrisonville, Missouri 64071. Funeral Services will immediately follow, at the church, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Suttles, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Rockey Meo, Robert Duey, Randy Strickland, Chayton Parrott, K. R. Parrott and Bob Salmons. Interment will be held at 12:45 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. The family suggests contributions to the Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene.

Wearing of masks during visitation and funeral service would be appreciated.

    I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your grandmother! I didn’t know her but I’m sure she was a very kind, sweet person!

    So sorry to learn of the passing of this special lady. I will always remember her passion for me, all those years ago. Rest in Peace and we will meet again on the other side
