Travis Dean Manes was born April 12, 1989 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on December 10, 2015 in Independence, Missouri at the age of 26 years, 7 months and 29 days.
He was the son of Richard Lee Hunsel and Jennie Lea Manes. Travis spent most of his life in the Independence area and worked in appliance repair and sales. He enjoyed outdoor life, including fishing, camping and riding his ATV. Travis also enjoyed spending time with his two children and being around his many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Lee Hunsel; his maternal grandparents, Earl and Helen Manes; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Hunsel; one brother, Kenny Hunsel; two uncles, Alan and Johnny Lewis and one aunt, Phyllis Criss.
Travis is survived by one son, Anthony Dean Manes and one daughter, Haley Ann Manes both of the home; his mother Jennie Lea Bay and husband Earl Dean of Independence, Missouri; brothers, Bobby, Dale and Michael; sisters, Keria Manes and fiancé Josh Beemer of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Melissa and Shirley; aunts, Elizabeth Lewis, Michele Harris, Christy Grado; uncles, James Manes and Jim O’Hare; 14 first cousins, many second cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has been accorded and the family will host a Memorial Service and Gathering for family and friends from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the Community of Christ Church, 8510 Leavenworth Road, Kansas City, Kansas 66109 ( church phone number (913) 299-0785) with Elder Lucille Palmer and Pastor Gary officiating.
