Suzanne Patricia (Cooke) Miller was born December 26, 1954 in Melbourne, Australia and departed this life on February 13, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 18 days. She was the daughter of Martin Desmond “Des” and Kathleen Mary “Kath” (Smith) Cooke.
Suzanne spent her younger years in the Sydney, Australia area, graduating from Loreto Girls High School in Normanhurst, New South Wales, Australia. At the age of 25, Suzanne made a trip to San Francisco, California to visit friends, while there, her friends introduced her to Donald C. Miller and three months later they were engaged. After her engagement, Suzanne returned to Australia to plan the wedding. On January 10, 1981 Suzanne and Donn were united in marriage in Normanhurst, New South Wales, Australia. After their marriage and honeymoon in Australia, the couple returned to Albany, California where they lived until 1986 when they moved back to Australia. In 1987 the Miller family moved to Walnut Creek, California and lived there until 1994 when they moved temporarily to Prairie Village, Kansas while looking for a house to buy. In October of 1995, they found a house and property in Harrisonville, Missouri and moved there to make their home. Suzanne had worked as a payroll and office clerk before leaving California when she became and full time homemaker.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband Donn Miller on November 4, 2015, as well as by her parents Des and Kath Cooke and one brother, Mark Cooke.
She is survived by two sons, Warren and Martin Miller and one daughter, Malynn Miller all of Harrisonville, Missouri; one brother, Robert Cooke and two sisters, Lyn Cooper and Anne Fellew, all of Australia.
Cremation has been accorded. The Holy Mass for Suzanne Miller will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, Missouri with Father Ian Murphy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to Mass, 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
