Steven B. Weinrich, 59, of Lee’s Summit Missouri, was born September 14, 1956 in Marshall, Missouri and peacefully departed this life on May 15, 2016 surrounded by his family, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. He was the son of Henry Jefferson and Jean (Twilling) Weinrich.
Steve spent his younger years in Marshall, Missouri, graduating from Marshall High School in 1974.
Having fought and overcome health issues from birth, Steve developed a passion for and dedication to “The Business of Medicine.” After high school graduation, Steve enrolled in CMSU where he obtained his education as an EMT. In 1976, after becoming a certified EMT, Steve returned to Marshall, Missouri where he not only established, but also became the first director of the Marshall City Ambulance. In September of 1997, Steve assumed the position of Executive Director of Lee’s Summit Physicians Group, expanding to Raintree Pediatrics and Blue Springs Pediatrics, and serving in that capacity until his illness.
Steve had a passion for life and a smile that could light up any room. He enjoyed time at his Ozarks Lake House where he would boat and fish and have quality “him” time or time with family and friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his father, and one brother, Jim Weinrich.
He is survived by his mother,Jean Weinrich of Pleasant Hill, MO; his fiancé, Cara Massey and sons, James and Cameron Massey all of the home; one brother, Bill Weinrich and wife Cheryl of Aurora, MO; one sister, Barbara Klinge of Harrisonville, MO; five nephews; one niece; his fur baby, Chance, other relatives and many, many friends.
Per Steve’s wishes, cremation has been accorded and his family will host a Celebration of Life Service, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Summit Park Church, 2818 NE Independence Avenue, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64064, with Pastor Scott Obremski officiating. Flowers will be accepted at the church after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The family would like to express their thanks and sincere appreciation to the doctors and staff of Menorah Medical Center for the kindness, care, and devotion shown to Steve during his final illness.
