Rosetta Elizabeth (Mayabb) Crain, longtime resident of Pleasant Hill, was born October 25, 1929 in the Fairmont Neighborhood of Independence, Missouri and departed this life on August 19, 2016 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 9 months and 25 days. She was the daughter of Don Harley and Rose Alma (Painter) Mayabb.
Elizabeth spent her younger years in the Fairmont area of Independence and attended school there. While Rosetta was still in high school, the Mayabb family moved to Strasburg, Missouri. On September 3, 1949, Rosetta was united in marriage with Murtes William Crain at the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and to this union two daughters where born. The Crain family made their home in Pleasant Hill.
Rosetta was a full time homemaker, devoting her entire life to her family. She also enjoyed spending time at their “lake home” in Warsaw, Missouri, where they made many good friends over the years.
Rosetta was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Rose Mayabb and one sister, Kay McMillan.
She is survived by her husband, Murtes William Crain of the home; two daughters, Deborah Crain of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Beth (Crain) Phillips and husband Marvin of Henderson, Nevada; one brother, James “Jim” Mayabb and wife Joyce of Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Dorothea (Mayabb) Stephens and husband Lewis of Harrisonville, Missouri and Donna Jean (Mayabb) Reiche and husband Ron of Beaumont, Texas; other relatives and many friends.
In accordance with Rosetta’s wishes, cremation has been accorded and no services are scheduled.
