Robert Rochelle Lyons

Robert Rochelle Lyons (1933 – 2024) was a dedicated, hardworking individual who always put the needs of others ahead of his own. Born in Strasburg, MO where he made his home for 91 years. He was known for his giving spirit and witty sense of humor.

Robert was a faithful member of the Strasburg Union Church, a veteran of the Korean War, eight time Post Commander for VFW Post #8100, past mayor of Strasburg, Mo, coach of many baseball and softball teams and umpire for numerous years. He was an employee of Bendix/Honeywell as a stores keeper for 42 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Rochelle Robert and Thelma Glenora (Wilburn) Lyons; wives, Maryland (Reed), married 46 years and Constance (Dolan), married 10 years.

He is survived by his children: Cheryle (Lyons) & Dennis Fish, Linda (Lyons) Hollands, Luke & Jennifer (Carpenter) Utterback. Sister: Glenda Hoots. Grandchildren: Jennifer Lewis; Christopher & Joshonna (Price) Berry, Karla (Berry) & Denver Denish, Laura Berry, Kristen (Henley) & Dexter Sellin, Kyle Henley, Blake Utterback & Tyson Utterback, 4 great granddaughter and 2 great grandsons, numerous family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2024, at the funeral home, with Rev. David Hackett officiating. Casket Bearers will be Blake Utterback, Tyson Utterback, Denver Denish, Gary Hoots, Christopher Berry and Steve Stevens. Interment will be in the Strasburg Cemetery with full military honors by the United States Army and Jackson County Ritual Team.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Strasburg Union Church or M D Anderson Cancer Center.

We find comfort in knowing Dad’s legacy lives on through lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

    I’m soooo very sorry to hear of Bobs passing. I took care of his first wife, Maryland, at Pleasant Hill Health Care. That’s where Bob and I got acquainted. He came in every evening to see Maryland. He was one of a kind! ❤️

    He and his family were fixtures of Strasburg and part of the fabric of its history. I will truly miss him.
