Ricky William Wallace was born August 9, 1963 in Independence, Missouri and departed this life suddenly on November 28, 2020 at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
He was the son of Gary Richard Wallace and Beverly Faith (Cantin) Wallace.
Ricky spent his younger years in the Kansas City area, graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1980. After graduation he attended Longview Community College on a baseball scholarship. While at Longview, Ricky was drafted by a minor league baseball team in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to St. Louis and played baseball there. Later he tried out for the Kansas City Royals, but a severe injury ended his hope of a major League baseball career. After his baseball career ended, Ricky held various jobs before declining health forced an early retirement.
Ricky enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool, but, what he enjoyed most in life was spending time with his grandchildren.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Gary Richard Wallace and his mother, Beverly Faith (Cantin) Wallace.
He is survived by his three sons, Paul William Wallace of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Travis Lee Wallace and wife Amanda of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Richard Shane Wallace and fiancé, Jade Nicole Baughman of Oak Grove, Missouri; one daughter, Amber Joy Gregg and husband Preston Gene of Gunn City, Missouri; two brothers, Randy Wallace and wife Brenda of Independence, Missouri and, Corey Wallace and husband James Wright of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; his girlfriend, Patricia James of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; ten grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

My condolences to Randy, Corey and family. I had not seen Rick in many years and I regret that very much. I wish I had gone to visit more often. I loved Rick and included him in my daily prayers. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. He was taken from us much too soon. But, I find comfort in knowing that he is now in the arms of the Lord and is finally with his mother, Beverly.
We love you, Rick. May God Bless you and keep you. You will always be in our hearts.
