Helping Families and Friends Honor Loved Ones Since 1959

Patricia K. Duggar

Patricia Kay Duggar
November 8, 1944 – April 10, 2025

Patricia Kay Duggar, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 80.

Born on November 8, 1944, during the height of World War II, Patricia was the first of three daughters born to Marguerite Evelyn Hooper and John Edward McClasky. Later, with the loving addition of her stepfather, Jack Carter Chandler, Patricia gained a younger sister, completing a close-knit family of four girls. Patricia and her three sisters were known not only for their closeness, but for being absolutely stunning beauties — graceful, vibrant, and unforgettable in every room they entered. She was the heart and soul of her family and a woman whose quiet strength and deep kindness left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.

On October 23, 1964, Patricia married the love of her life, Lloyd Mace Duggar, Jr., the eldest of five brothers. Together, they shared 47 years of marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering love until his passing in 2011. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Andrea Duggar and Christina Duggar, whom Patricia loved beyond measure. She was, in every way, the best mother anyone could ever hope for; loving, supportive, wise, and endlessly kind.

A gifted cosmetologist and proud small business owner, Patricia ran her own salon with her dear friends Peggy and Charlene, called The SyndiCut, where her clients often became lifelong friends. She probably gave a free haircut to just about everyone reading this, a true testament to her generous spirit and ever-open heart.  She worked hard for her family and often worked two jobs to provide the extras that they needed.

Patricia was brilliant, witty, and deeply curious. She devoured mystery novels and biographies, completed crossword puzzles in record time, and was a fierce competitor in cards, dominoes, and just about any game she played. Her laughter was simply beautiful. She had a green thumb and a golden heart; her garden bloomed under her care, as did the people around her. She found beauty and happiness in the simple things in life.  Her kitchen was a place of warmth and welcome, where she cooked food that would make you want to lick your plate and made sure everyone had a seat at the table. She hosted endless and fabulous holiday parties, full of laughter, food, and family; the kind of gatherings people would talk about for years to come.

She was also a woman of conviction; passionate about history, active in her civic duties, and devoted to truth and justice. She passed on these values to her daughters, along with a sense of hope, resilience, and joy.

Patricia is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd Mace Duggar, Jr.; her mother, Marguerite Evelyn Hooper; her father, John Edward McClasky; her stepfather, Jack Carter Chandler; and her cherished Irish twin sister, Karen Bell McClasky Schneider.

She is survived by her daughters, Andrea Duggar (and partner Graham Patten) and, Christina Duggar (and partner Dennis Blood), her sister Kathy Nichols and brother-in-law William Nichols, Sr.; her sister and brother-in-law Jackie and Buddy Wallen, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Her intelligence, compassion, and quiet humor will be missed beyond words. The world is much dimmer without her in it, but those who loved her take comfort that she is now reunited with Lloyd; together again finally for another trip around the sun.

Services will be held on Saturday, April 19th at Wallace Funeral Home, 422 N. Lake Street, Pleasant Hill, Missouri 64080.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 A.M. A graveside service will take place directly after at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are welcome to come and pay their respects.
