Lucille (Corlew) West

Lucille (Corlew) West was born November 19, 1921 in Lone Jack, Missouri and departed this life on January 5, 2018 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 17 days.

She was the daughter of Luke and Bessie (Howard) Corlew.

Lucille graduated from Grain Valley High School in 1939. She was united in marriage with Elmer Lee West and they made their home in Lone Jack. Mr. Elmer West passed away on September 29, 1973 and Lucille continued to live in the family home until her death.

Lucille had worked at Lake City Ammunitions Plant, but most of her life was spent as a full time homemaker.

In addition to her husband, Elmer, Lucille was preceded in death by one son, Ronald West on March 28, 1999; her parents Luke and Bessie Corlew; five brothers, Frank, Ed, Bill, Jim and Lloyd Corlew, and one sister Esta Sigamond.

Lucille is survived by two sons, William “Bill” West and partner, Nancy Vancil of Raymore, Missouri, and Larry W. West of Warsaw, Missouri.

Graveside Service for Lucille West will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at the Lone Jack Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Ann Kircher, of Lone Jack Christian Church, officiating.

It was Lucille’s wish that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Children’s Mercy Hospital, 2401 Gillham Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64108.
