Louis Albert Sack

Louis Albert Sack was born March 8, 1930 in Madison Township, Johnson County, Missouri and departed this life on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill Missouri, at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 8 days.

He was the son of Otto Joseph and Mary Leona (Kassing) Sack.

Louis spent his younger years in Holden, Missouri, graduating from Holden High School in 1948. After graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Navy until late 1949 when he was honorably discharged from active duty and transferred to the Navy Reserves.

On December 1, 1951, Louis was united in marriage with Dorothy L. Hensley and they made their home in Independence until 1952 when Louis was recalled to active duty with the United States Navy during the Korean War. The Sack family lived in San Francisco while Louis was stationed at Treasure Island Naval Station. After his honorable discharge in December of 1952 the Sack family moved back to Independence, where they made their home and raised their four children. Louis and Dorothy later ended their marriage.

On June 1, 1992, Louis was united in marriage with Bobbie Joyce Briner in Clark County, Nevada. After their marriage they lived in Lee’s Summit until moving to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri where they lived for nine years. After leaving Lake of the Ozarks, Louis and Bobbie lived in Lone Jack, Missouri for a short time while building their home in Pleasant Hill, where they have lived for the past 13 years.

Louis was a machinist and had worked for T.W.A. and later, A.T. & T.

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Joseph and Mary Leona Sack; one son, Edward L. Sack; three brothers, Fred, Henry and Norbert Sack and two sisters, Mildred Barnett and Dorothy Wilson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie (Briner) Sack of the home; three sons, Alan R. Sack and wife Paige of North Kansas City, MO, Ricky J. Sack and wife Kelly of Grain Valley, MO. and Jeffrey S. Ellis and wife Marina of Kingsville, MO; three daughters, Debbie A. Milburn and husband Regie of Independence, MO., Cheryl L. Allen and husband Ben of Lee’s Summit, MO. and Cathy J. Brose and husband Eric of Maui, Hawaii; his twin brother, Leo G. Sack and wife Patricia of Hampton, New Hampshire; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family of Louis Albert Sack will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2o, 2018 at the Wallace Funeral Home. A Memorial Prayer Service will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, with Monsignor Robert Murphy, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Alan Sack, Ricky Sack, Josh Milburn, Jesse Sack, Tyler Ellis and Forrest “B. J.” Allen. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Holden, Missouri. Family suggests contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children.

    My condolences to the family for the loss of your dear love one. May Jehovah the God of tender mercy and comfort strengthen you during this time of sorrow – 2 Corinthians 1:3,4, it is his promise that you will see your love one again, John 5:28, 29.

    Louis and Bobbie were my neighbors when I lived in Pleasant Hill. Louis would mow my lawn when I was out of town.
