LARRY WAYNE SUPPENBACH
Larry Wayne Suppenbach was born October 7, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on June 16, 2023 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
He was the son of Louis Edward and Laura Belle (Shaw) Suppenbach.
Larry spent his entire life in Pleasant Hill, graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1970. After graduation, Larry proudly served his country in the Missouri Army National Guard for 6 years.
On April 12, 1975, Larry was united in marriage with Robin Baker at the First Christian Church of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and to this union one daughter, Tiffany, was born.
Larry owned and operated Suppenbach Equipment Service from 1977 until his retirement in 2002. In 1986, Larry also opened Suppenbach Winter Racing (SWR) which was the first indoor RC track in the Kanas City area.
In addition to his RC racing, Larry enjoyed kite flying, CB radios, motorcycles, camping, was a drummer, hot rods, fishing, drawing, vehicle restoration, wood and chainsaw carving, 4-wheelers, UTV’s, drag racing, model trains and slot cars.
Above all else, however, Larry was a loving and devoted husband, dad and Papa. Although Larry had a special relationship with his daughter and only child, Tiffany, his grandsons were truly the ‘Light of his life”. He was a wonderful mentor for his grandsons, and lovingly and patiently instilled in them a passion for his hobbies.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Louis Edward Suppenbach; his mother, Laura Belle (Shaw) Suppenbach-Haller and his step-father, Steve Haller.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Suppenbach of the home; daughter, Tiffany Lewis and husband Len of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; two grandsons, Cody Lewis and Wyatt Lewis; other relatives and many, many friends.
In Memory of Larry Wayne Suppenbach, the family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life Visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. A special request from Robin and Tiffany; if you have a “classic car”, a motorcycle or a UTV, please drive it to Larry’s Celebration of Life Visitation.
Contributions are suggested to either Robin Suppenbach or Tiffany Lewis and will be used for the future benefit of Larry’s grandsons, Cody and Wyatt.
