James Wesley “Jim” Browning

James Wesley “Jim” Browning was born March 28, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on December 22, 2018 at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 24 days.

He was the son of Dean Warren and Freda Lee (Farmer) Browning.

Jim was a lifelong Pleasant Hill resident and a 1969 graduate of Pleasant Hill High School. After graduation, Jim continued to live in Pleasant Hill and was a self-employed welder and tractor mechanic, his passion in life however, was refurbishing antique tractors.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Dean Browning on May 11, 1965; his mother, Freda Lee (Farmer) Browning on March 26, 2010, and his brother-in-law, J.C. Long on November 7, 2011.

He is survived by one sister, Judy (Browning) Long, and one niece, Lana Long and husband, Brett Coldiron, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; one great niece, Catherine and one great nephew, Conrad; one uncle, Willis Browning of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one cousin, Chuck Browning of Cass County, Missouri, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside Service and Interment for James Wesley “Jim” Browning will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Kent Deubner, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Alex Olsen, Ian Olsen, Ernie Anderson, Grady Hoenshell, John Bradshaw and Justin McConville. Honorary Bearers are Kevin Kirk, Don Creek and Dan Olsen. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. The family suggests contributions, In Memory of James Wesley “Jim” Browning, to the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.
