Gail Franklin Springer was born February 14, 1929 in Raymore, Missouri and departed this life on June 21, 2017 in Gunn City, Missouri at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 7 days.
He was the son of Roy Franklin and Edna Lucille (Kavanaugh) Springer, and a lifelong Cass County resident. Gail was married to Anna May Carlyle, and to this union four children were born. The marriage later ended. On December 24, 1984, Gail was united in marriage with Ruth Painter in Pleasant Hill.
Gail worked at Nutrena Farms in the early 50’s, later going to Bendix where he worked as a material handler. He retired from Bendix in 1987 after thirty years of service.
Gail was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Edna Springer; one son, Kennie Springer; four brothers, Glen, Amos, Bob and Loren, and one sister, Thelma Scott.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Springer of the home; three daughters, Anna Dale and husband Terry of Stilwell, Kansas, JoAn Long and husband David of Cedar Creek, Texas, and Dena Samuels and husband Harlan of Warsaw, Missouri; one brother, Wayne Springer and wife Geneva of Harrisonville, Missouri; three sisters, Eileen Gordon of Chillicothe, Missouri, June Shepherd of Mound City, Kansas and Delores Duck and husband Bruce of Altamont, Missouri; one step-son, Danny Painter of Gunn City, Missouri; one step-daughter, Cindy Byrd of Tulsa, Oklahoma; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and many, many friends.
Cremation has been accorded.
The family of Gail Franklin Springer will receive friends at a Celebration of Life Visitation from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.
Family requests flowers be omitted.
