Dorothy Elaine (Lilly) Cornelius was born August 23, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri and departed this life on April 6, 2021 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 14 days.
She was the daughter of Robert Eugene and Mildred Lois (Rockwell) Lilly.
Dorothy spent her childhood living in Pleasant Hill, MO and attended First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill. She later lived in Greenwood, MO with her husband, Allen, Sr. and two boys, Allen, Jr. and Joe.
Dorothy worked at Dickson and Dively Orthopedics for over 23 years and enjoyed her job and all the people she worked with everyday.
Dorothy loved her family fiercely and worked hard to make others happy. She was tough as nails, but would give you the shirt off her back. Dorothy had a wicked sense of humor that would leave you gasping for air in laughter. She was kind and generous unless you crossed her sons or grandchildren. Her loyalty to family and protective spirit was unmatched. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends, it will be hard to imagine life without her on this Earth.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Lilly and her sister Louise Boston.
She is survived by her husband, Allen Lee Cornelius, Sr. of the home; two sons, Allen Cornelius, Jr. and wife Stephanie, and Joe Cornelius and wife Kristina all of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; five grandchildren, Sara, J.T., Kate, Anna and Bradley Cornelius; four brothers, Curtis Lilly, James Lilly, Keith Lilly, Samuel Lilly; five sisters, Linda Farnsworth, Gina Fetters, Mary Gower, and Annette Creel, and Pamela Lilly.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Wallace Funeral Home, 422 N Lake St, Pleasant Hill, MO. 64080. Funeral Service will be held at Wallace Funeral Home on Sat. Apr 17, 2021 at 2 pm. with Rev. Lynne Brown, officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 1501 N State Route 7, Pleasant Hill, MO 64080.

My Sis, im happy and thankful to God yoou didnt have to suffer long BUT DANGIT! I certainly miss you and hearing your voice daily, yes I heard you through out the house even when you were on the phone with your Bubs…speaking of he ahs a huge hole in his heart and misses HIS LIFE LONG BEST FRIEND SO much …can you give GOD a DOROTHY TALK and ask him to heal your bubs heart and comfort him, also your precious AL and Boys and precious grand babies, tyhey did a outstanding JOB and I know you were shinning down n us with that proud momma smile, and while you and HE are at it have him ring your Girl “Miss Pammy…I say ring because she keeps looking at the phone waiting for her besty to call at least twice a day, Sorry to interupt what im sure is a wonderfultime in Heaven, as im sure you are having ..hug mom Lilly And my momma, we Love and Miss you Fiercly, your “Favorite brothr with Earthly Angel wings” Jack…..
