Donna Rae (Strampe) Rotzler was born September 21, 1938 in Paullina, Iowa and departed this life on August 4, 2019, surrounded by the love of her family, at Addington Place in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 14 days.
She was the daughter of Bernard and Helen (Idso) Strampe.
Donna spent her younger years and attended school in Iowa, and later went on to obtain an associates degree. After obtaining her associate degree she received a teaching certificate and taught elementary school in Iowa before starting her family.
Donna was united in marriage with Clayton Cooper and to this union 3 children were born. Mr. Cooper passed away at a young age leaving Donna to raise their three small children. Later she was united in marriage with Jerome Rotzler who also preceded her in death.
Donna worked as an administrative assistant for an insurance company, but the job she loved the most, was that of an amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Donna was an avid quilter and belonged to many local quilting guilds over the years.
In addition to her husbands, Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Helen Strampe, and one brother, Palmer Strampe.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey C. Cooper and wife Wendy of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and Jonathan P. Cooper and wife Elena of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one daughter, Cathleen R. Hagge and husband Brett of Dayton, Iowa; two step-sons, Max Rotzler and Michael Rotzler; one brother, Homer Strampe of Spirit Lake, Iowa; five grandchildren, Brandon (Lisette), Sara, Chelsea Cooper, Alex Cooper, and Seth; seven great grandchildren, Blake, Alex, Ava, Collin, Ella, Averie and Brody, other relatives and many friends.
Per Donna’s wishes, cremation has been accorded and no services are scheduled.
