DIANNA LEE (Dawson) HEMINGER
Dianna Lee (Dawson) Heminger was born July 3, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska and departed this life on December 26, 2023 at Olathe Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 23 days.
She was the daughter of Glen Olen, Sr. and Barbara Ann (Capps) Dawson.
Dianna spent her younger years in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, graduating from Pleasant Hill High School in 1969. After graduation, Dianna worked several places throughout her life, but the career she was very proud of, and showed her true entrepreneurship, was, along with her sister, Linda Miller, co-owning and operating Sunday’s Best, a dress shop in Blue Springs, Missouri. Dianna retired in 2011.
On August 15, 1985, Dianna was united in marriage with Wayne G. Heminger in Las Vegas, Nevada. After their marriage they made their home in the Kansas City area.
Dianna enjoyed walking on the beach, shelling and eating great seafood, and her favorite places to do that were Sanibel Island and Longboat Key, Florida. Dianna and Wayne loved to travel, but were always drawn toward places near the ocean such as California, Maine and of course, Florida.
Dianna loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was the happiest when she was surrounded by them.
Dianna was preceded in death by her parents, Glen Olen, Sr. and Barbara Ann (Capps) Dawson and two sisters, Barbara Phebus and Glenda Sue Breckenridge.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Heminger of the home; one son, Brian Franklin and wife Christy of Gardner, Kansas; two brothers, Tom Higdon and wife Gail of Joplin, Missouri and, Glen “Dusty” Dawson and wife Linda of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one sister, Linda Miller and husband Jan of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kody Franklin and Katie, Gage Franklin and wife Logan, and Morgan Franklin; two great-grandchildren, Brenton and Daelynn Gwen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family of Dianna Lee (Dawson) Heminger will receive friends at a Celebration of Life Visitation from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. “In Loving Memory of Dianna”, a eulogy will be given at the end of the Celebration of Life by Jessica Martinez. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.
