DIANA LEIGH (Smith) BARBARICK

Diana Leigh (Smith) Barbarick, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on August 15, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Born on June 28, 1951, in Harrisonville, MO, Diana dedicated her life to her family, raising her children in Pleasant Hill, MO.

Diana was a wonderful woman known for her love of family, her vivid personality, and her ornery sense of humor. She had a unique spirit that brought joy and laughter to everyone around her, and she never missed an opportunity to make those she loved smile. Her pride in her grandchildren was evident, as she loved to spend time with them and brag about their accomplishments.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Shara Black and husband Ronald, and Debbie Barbarick; her cherished grandchildren, Kurt Brent, Kodey Brent, Kayleigh Brent, Larry Hibner, Terrell Lewis, Michael Lewis, and Aleeya Lewis; Diana also leaves behind her precious great-grandchildren, Miliana Baskin, Zyaire Lewis, Graesyn Lewis, and Jaydyn Brown; one sister, Carol Waisner and husband Mike; the entire Barbarick Family, and thank you for the many years of love and support for Diana; other relatives and many friends.

Diana was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ricky Barbarick; her late husband, Jerry Barbarick, and her brother, Randy Smith. Her departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her, but comfort can be found in knowing she was ready to reunite with her mother, Alice, in heaven.

Diana Leigh Barbarick will be remembered for her loving spirit, her playful and ornery nature, and the vibrant energy she brought into the lives of those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she left behind.

In honor of Diana Leigh (Smith) Barbarick, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, with Pastor Jason Hawkins officiating.  Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.
