Annis “Junior” Busick, Jr.

Annis “Junior” Busick, Jr. was born October 23, 1939 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and departed this life on April 13, 2021 at his home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, surrounded by the love of his family, at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 21 days.

He was the son of Annis Leroy and Pearl “Lena” (Crum) Busick. Junior came from a large family of 17 children.

On August 5, 1961, he was united in marriage with Judith Elizabeth West. They were married at his brother’s home in Prairie Lee Lake, Jackson County, Missouri. Junior and Judy lived several places throughout their married life before moving to Pleasant Hill, Missouri in 2012 to make their home.

Junior worked as night manager for Crest Thriftway for 40 years before his retirement in 1998, and was a member of U.F.C.W. District Local #2.

Among the things Junior enjoyed were gardening, raising beautiful flowers, cooking, fishing, trips to the casinos, and scratching lottery tickets.

Junior loved his family and cherished his grandchildren. Being an excellent cook, some of his happiest moments came from gathering his family together for a holiday meal that he prepared himself. Junior was also a man of strong faith and had attended the Assembly of God Church in Raymore, Missouri.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Annis and Lena Busick; one son, Brian Keith Busick; eight brothers, James Busick, William Theadore Talbert, Leroy Busick, Albert Busick, Raymond Busick, Glenn Busick, Richard Busick and J.D. Busick and seven sisters, Sarah Drake, Goldie Edwards, Kay Thomas, Marcella Busick, Wilma Jean Shrock, Mary Ann Busick and Alice Casey.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Busick of the home; two daughters, Virginia “Marie” Ruffin and husband Terry of Pryor, Oklahoma and Tammy Elizabeth Johnson of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; one sister, Dorothy Ponder of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

The family of Annis “Junior” Busick, Jr. will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 Noon on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Rev. Dalin Antwiler officiating. Casket Bearers will be Nicholas Busick, Zachary Clemens-Russell, Mark Fraley, Aaron Johnson, Philip Rhodes, Richard Rhodes and Terry Ruffin. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
