Alice (Roach) LaHue was born February 3, 1923 in rural Holden, Missouri and departed this life on August 25, 2017 at her home in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, at the age of 94 years, 6 months and 22 days.
She was the daughter of George W. and Evangeline Gertrude (Meador) Roach.
Alice spent most of her life in the Holden, Missouri area, graduating from Holden High School in 1940.
On May 21, 1954, Alice was united in marriage with Albert W. LaHue in Holden, after their marriage, they made their home in Holden. Mr. LaHue passed away on November 20, 2008 and Alice continued to live in the family home until 2011 when she moved to Pleasant Hill to make her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and David Hancock.
During the early years of her marriage, Alice was a full time homemaker, later she worked at Holden Sundries for ten years. Alice was a member of the United Methodist Church of Holden, Missouri.
Alice enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She also liked to quilt and sew. But, above all else, Alice was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents, George and Evangeline Roach; one brother, George A. Roach; one sister, Mary Anna Corkran and one granddaughter, Christy Lynn (Hancock) Braccino on August 13th of this year. She is survived by four daughters, Sue Hancock and husband David of Pleasant Hill, MO., Linda Hayes of Holden, MO., Mary Howe of Knob Noster, MO., and Sandy Howard and husband Thurl of Leeton, MO; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation has been accorded. Graveside Service for Alice LaHue will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Holden Cemetery, Holden, Missouri, with Chaplain Robert Ernsting, of Three Rivers Hospice, officiating. The family of Alice LaHue suggests contributions to Three Rivers Hospice, 1604 NW Mock Ave., Unit C, Blue Springs, Missouri 64015.
