DAVID LYNN HAY
David Lynn Hay, 76, passed away Friday December 20th 2024 in Lees Summit, Mo after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on October 18, 1948, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
David attended high school and college in Indianapolis before enlisting in the United States Air Force. David retired from the Air Force, after 20 years of service, as a Master Sergeant working as a contract administrator. He would continue to work as a contract administrator for Morrison–Knudsen, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and National Renewable Energy Laboratory before fully retiring and moving to Lee’s Summit to be closer to his sons and grandchildren. He enjoyed watching westerns and war movies, playing golf, talking about cars and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
David is preceded in death by his parents Ellsworth E. Hay and Pauline Emma (Taylor) Hay. David is survived by wife Linda Hay, children Michael Hay(wife Destiny Hay) and Thomas Hay(wife Alicia Foss), grandchildren Grace Hay and Colby Hay, sister Patricia Carnine, step-Brother Gary Whitlow, and nieces Nicole Lynn Schofield, Natalie Carnine and Nora Carnine.
The family of David Lynn Hay will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Wallace Funeral Home, 422 N. Lake Street, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 2103 Lexington Road, Pleasant Hill, Missouri at 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 3, 2025 with Father Tom Holder, officiating. Casket Bearers will be Grace Hay, Colby Hay, Willie Crespo, Dan Merkh, Tim Ciafullo and John Groner. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the United States Air Force and V.F.W. Post #3118 Honor Guard of Pleasant Hill, MO.
