Ida ‘Inez’ Alley, born on October 16, 1934, went to be with the lord after passing away in her home on March 6, 2022, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family.
Inez was born in Gravois Mills, Missouri to parents John Lemuel and Lillie Frances Conner. She was the last of 11 children. She grew up with a large, lively family bonded by love. This became the foundation for a life centered around family.
Inez married her high school sweetheart John Elwin Alley on August 3rd, 1952. They were blessed to have a loving marriage of 64 years until John’s passing in 2017. They were blessed with 3 children, Randy Alley of Gunn City, Missouri, Gary Alley (and wife Kathleen) of Lake Wales, Florida, and Traci Allen (and husband Greg) of Gunn City, Missouri. Their family went on to expand to 9 grandchildren: Travis, Nicole, Kelly, Amanda, Megan, Lily, Nathan, Ryan and Travis, 17 great grandchildren: Kelin, Alexandria, Conner, Gavin, Dylan, Ava, Emilly, Allen, Treyson, Eli, Savannah, Emerald, Averi, Joslyn, Leyla, Kendall, & Cole. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, all 10 siblings and her husband, John.
She was an active member of the Baptist community leading many children’s ministry activities. In service of their faith, Inez and John traveled to many sites around the country to assist in the erection of new Baptist churches. Her service heart was evident in her years dedicated to servitude with the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Women’s Mission Union. It would be nearly impossible to estimate the amount of cookies Inez personally baked and drinks poured for her community. Inez was a CNA at Camden Health Center in Harrisonville for many years and took pride in her caregiving abilities. She found meaning in being present for many friends and family member’s in their times of need. After retirement, her and John enjoyed camping with close friends and spending numerous hours at the lake with the grandkids. Weekends at the lake and annual trips to Silver Dollar City were some of her most joyous memories. These trips were normally a “no parents allowed” adventure.
It is with great joy that the family can say that her final chapter was filled with family, laughter, sunshine and sand between her toes.
The family of Ida “Inez” Alley will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the Pleasant Hill First Christian Church, 519 Cedar Street, Pleasant Hill, Missouri. Funeral Service will immediately follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Preston Sanders officiating. Casket Bearers will be Travis Alley, Nathan Ederer, Ryan Slead, Ryan Allen and Travis Allen. Honorary Bearers are Johnny Conner, Bill Armstrong, Ronnie Conner, David Clark and Tom McNeil. Interment will be at Swan Lake Cemetery, Grain Valley, Missouri.

I am so sorry about your mother,she was a wonderful person. Her and I had some fun times in my beauty shop, we would and laugh and then we might get serious. Her and your dad were a wonderful couple. I loved them both. We need to rejoice they are together again and with our Lord. I will be praying for God to give you and your family peace and comfort.
Our family sends our condolences to the family of Aunt Inez .Tim and I both have fond memories of her time with family. Her smile could always light up the room and she always wanted to hear about our lives when we saw her beautiful face. . She truly was a Proverbs 31 woman.

Traci has been my best friend since 7.th grade so I have spent a lot of time at the Alley home. I’ve been to many family reunions and many trips to the lake. They were like my 2nd parents to me and grandparents to my daughter Kristin.. They both meant the world to me. Family meant the world to them. I was blessed to know them. So glad they are reunited.

I’m so sorry for you loss. Inez was a wonderful lady. I worked with her at Camden many years. She was a great person.
I was coming back from a trip from Arkansas today, and my GPS was bringing me back through Gun City on my way home in Lake Lotawana, when I noticed a mailbox with Alley on it, so I turned around and my wife asked me what I was doing? I visited John fifteen years before in Gun City, Inez told me that John was having memory issues and he might not remember things,I visited with him for several hours and at the end of my visit I told Inez I couldn’t tell anything was wrong, I wish I would’ve known about his passing , when I pulled in their driveway Randy was at the back door, and looking pretty bewildered, he finally figured out who I was, I knew John had passed, and Randy told me about Inez, me and Gary played sports together growing up and had allot of wonderful times together, what a great family they were, lot of good memories, Randy called Gary and I left a message, I hope he calls me?
