Margaret M. (Botelho) Campbell

Margaret M. (Botelho) Campbell was born March 12, 1937 in Fall River, Massachusetts and departed this life on March 27, 2020 at Beautiful Savior Care Center in Belton, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 83 years and 15 days.

She was the daughter of Jesse and Margaret (Pacheco) Botelho.

Margaret spent her younger years in Fall River, Massachusetts, graduating from Durfee High School in 1955. After graduation, Margaret worked as a secretary for the United States Government.

On June 7, 1958, Margaret was united in marriage with Conrad Pierre (Pete) Campbell in Fall Rivers, Massachusetts. Margaret and Pete lived several places early in their marriage due to Pete’s work. In 1960 they moved to the Kansas City area, then Raytown, Missouri where they lived and raised their family.

Margaret was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, her life revolved around her deep love and concern for her family.

Margaret was a devout and active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Raytown, Missouri where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus, secretary for the Altar Society, and a member of the church choir. She was always ready and willing to serve her Parish in any way she could.

Margaret enjoyed shopping, visiting craft and antique malls, and playing games, including dominos and cards. One of Margaret’s favorite hobbies was collecting angel figurines which she cherished.

 Margaret was a member of the Red Hat Society in Raytown, Missouri and, a member of the International Order of Foresters.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad P. (Pete) Campbell on October 19, 2014; her parents, Jesse and Margaret Botelho, and one son-in-law, David Corbin.

She is survived by two sons, David Campbell and wife Sonja of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Steven Campbell and wife Mariah of Lake Lotawana, Missouri; three daughters, Claudia Corbin of Grain Valley, Missouri, Valerie Stephens and husband Kenneth of Holden, Missouri, and Elaine Machuca and husband Jose of Pawleys Island, South Carolina; one brother, David Botelho and wife Julie of Hawthorne, California; nine grandchildren, Travis Corbin and wife Virginia, Kolette Sisk and husband Jake, Kourtney Moore and husband Spencer, Jose Machuca, Daniel Machuca, Madeline Campbell, Jacob Campbell, Raef Campbell and Elizabeth “Libby” Campbell; five great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Cremation was accorded. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. with Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., all Friday, July 31, 2020 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Raytown, Missouri. Father Dave Holloway will officiate. Due to Covid-19, masks and social distancing are required.
