Clarence LeRoy Burger of Pleasant Hill, Missouri was born January 5, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois and departed this life on May 21, 2016 at Meadow View of Harrisonville Health and Rehabilitation Center, at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 16 days.
He was the son of Clarence and Helen (Bukowski) Burger.
Clarence spent most of his younger life in Chicago where he graduated high school and attended college. On September 29, 1956 he was united in marriage with Nancy Ann Mays and they made their home in Chicago.
Clarence worked for Western Electric (Alcatel-Lucent) as an Electronics Technologist, and in 1985 he was transferred to the Lee’s Summit Facility of Western Electric (Alcatel-Lucent) and he and Nancy moved to Pleasant Hill to make their home. Mrs. Burger preceded Clarence in death on April 7, 2014. Clarence was of the Catholic faith and had been a member of the Knights of Columbus in Chicago.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Helen Burger; two brothers, Arthur and Raymond Burger and one sister, Betty Creamer.
He is survived by three sons, Lawrence Burger and wife Christine of Naples, Florida, Mark Burger and wife Diane of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and Scott Burger and wife Christy of Owasso, Oklahoma; three daughters, Leeann Stack and husband Ronald of Champaign, Illinois, Laura Lee and husband Robert of Canton, Michigan, and Nancy Harte and husband William of San Diego, California; one sister, Virginia Metke of Chicago, Illinois; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service for Clarence LeRoy Burger will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with Chaplain Allen Spight officiating. Casket Bearers will be Lawrence Burger, Mark Burger, Scott Burger, Leeann Stack, Laura Lee and Nancy Harte. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
